Grounding to the earth

The Earthing Movie: The Remarkable Science of Grounding

My takeaways for grounding

  • Grounding improves the bodies electrical system by properly charging and structuring the body’s water resulting in health improvements in a wide range of ailments for most, but not all, people.
  • The easiest, most natural way of grounding is to walk barefooted on the ground, whether grass, sand, dirt or concrete without paint or other vapor barrier.
  • Grounding products, like pads for your feet or sheets to sleep on, are available to ground indoors. Products come with testers to check your outlet for proper wiring before plugging into the ground plug. (see products below)

I learned about grounding from Dr. Tom Cowan in late 2020 and developed this graphic of our invisible electromagnetic world to explain my understanding. You can learn more about Dr. Cowan’s perspective on sickness and health by watching these talks:

Products

While I’ve used most of these products realizing great benefit personally, this is not an endorsement and I do not receive any benefit from this reference, nor should it be considered medical advice.

  • Small grounding mats: to see if indoor grounding is for you, you can start with an economical small mat. Small mats are available individually or in larger sets and can be used while standing, sitting, or laying down with the same benefits as the Ultimate Longevity mats.
  • Cotton sheet with silver thread: moderately priced, this sheet is more comfortable than the more expensive Ultimate Longevity Sleep Mats, but does not product the same level of grounding and it requires gentle cycle washing with soap for delicate fabrics.
  • Ultimate Longevity Sleep Mats: a larger investment, this sheet feels a little like Naugahyde but thin and can be wiped clean. You can use it over the sheet as shown, or across the bottom of the bed. Over the sheets is preferred but under the sheet works as well, as long as you make contact with bare skin.
  • Shoes: Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a traditional moccasin, with only a leather sole, however I did try these grounding shoes from Earthing Harmony. There are also synthetic shoes and grounding straps. Imagine, a Nebraska shoemaker making attractive, traditional leather-soled shoes.

All the best to you in your grounding journey!

I used a small pad like this first, under my legs to see if I liked it at all – it was around $30.  This is a more expensive kit, but there are others for less:
